Kathryn C. Shafer, Ph.D, ACSW, LCSW, CAP, E-200RYT
Dr. Kathryn Shafer earned her Doctorate at Barry University in Miami Florida designing and studying the effectiveness of an international substance abuse training for health care professionals in the former Soviet Union. She completed her Graduate and Undergraduate studies in Social Work at New York University. She has held academic appointments at many universities including Assistant Professor in the School of Social Work at the University of South Florida, Tampa; and Research Director of the International Traumatology Institute. These appointments are only two of 10 that she has been appointed to since 1993.
Dr. Shafer is known for her work as a psychotherapist, teacher, educator, and practitioner of mindbody interventions for emotional and physical health.
She conducts interventions and assessments for addicts and their families.
Dr. Shafer is a certified Yoga instructor, has authored publications and conducted
research on these and related subjects.
For over 25 years Dr. Shafer provides services as a clinician, professor,
administrator and consultant. Dr. Shafer has given presentations as a keynote, guest lecturer, and appeared on numerous radio and television programs to discuss many topics pertaining to health, substance abuse, and trauma. Dr. Shafer has extensive experience in dealing with Eating Disorders and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. |
